Air baths and how it all began...
Did you know that Benjamin Franklin was so sure that fresh air was important for good health that he took a daily "air bath"? He wrote to the French physician, Jacques Barbeu-Debourg describing it thus: "I rise early almost every morning and sit in my chamber without any clothes whatsoever, half an hour or an hour, according to the season, either reading or writing." Well, at Watertech things have come a long way since Franklin's original "air bath".
The air massage system was developed during the 1980's in Europe. Initially created for hospital use, the system was designed to provide therapeutic, non-aggressive action. The massage by air is recognized to relax muscles while stimulating the production of our natural analgesic substances known as endorphins. An air bath generates millions of warm air bubbles that sooth the body, opens pores, boosts cardiac output, lowers blood pressure and improves circulation, etc. The air massage bath provides a soft tissue massage which is different from the deep tissue massage of a whirlpool bath.
